I BELIEVE IN HUSTLING AND MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE ~ 'MAMOKATJA PRECIOUS | FASHION & PHOTOGRAPHY MODEL

 "My name is Precious 'Mamokatja Sematle. I'm from Butha-Buthe but I moved to South Africa when I was 12. In SA, they body shamed me because I am skinny, and I ended up having low self esteem." This lead to Precious spending more time alone and she started seeing girls in heels on TV, she says they were beautiful, bold and confident. 'Mamokatja developed something that convinced her that one day she'll be like those pretty ladies she watched on the screen, "I didn't even know it was modeling at that time, but I fell in love with that thing and decided to join one of the agencies in Vereeniging", she said. And that is how she became a model and gained recognition.

Miss Sematle truly discovered and believed her talent when she was crowned 'Miss Teen Madamza' in high school. She says a lot of people looked up to her and that she became a role model to many students. Traditional people in one's family always in some way believe not in modern careers like modeling, Precious' grand ma' was no exception. The old lady's fear was human trafficking, and what people would say about Precious putting her body on the screen for everyone to see. "Things got better after we explained everything to her" - Precious said. "My friends were supportive from day one to date when I'm in Lesotho". 

What motivates you to keep pushing towards your dream, especially in Lesotho where it is believed to be kind of hard to make it?

"Because I know what I want ,I believe in hustling and making my dreams came true no matter how hard it is ,even if there are challenges I believe with challenges I learn lots of things and learn how to appreciate all small things that come timely ,I'm patiently getting there by faith",  she replied like a boss, Queen Precious.

This young and hopeful queen said she sees herself grooming beauty queens to the standard of competing in the world's international beauty competitions. Selfless as she sounds, she wishes to be a brand ambassador of a Lesotho owned brand. Lesotho, here is your product calling to represent you at home and beyond.

What role does the internet/clout play in your modeling career? How can other people  utilize clout to their advantage?

"Well, the internet plays a huge role now days.  It gives me great opportunities ,gives me support, gives me role models, people I look up to and... for me, the internet gave me Nandi Madida..." 'Mamokatja explained. She then continued saying Nandi Madida motivates her and inspires her to be whoever she aspires to be.

The fashion and photography model pointed out that the coronavirus pandemic has badly affected her work because she missed out great opportunities that came her way, her planned events had to be cancelled
