Morija is a big historical place for Lesotho, it is the first place that the missionaries from France settled when they arrived in Lesotho, they brought the good news for Moshoeshoe 1 and his people. Unlike Shaka, the king of the Zulus, Moshoeshoe accepted the missionaries and they settled under the beautiful table mountain of Morija, Makhoarane. This place has a lot of stories about Lesotho and has created  multitudes of talents. There is a man who does Gospel music and married to a lady who does music that passes the good news too. The couple was blessed with a son whom they often took with them when they went for studio sessions, the kid would watch and listen to his parents sing. He was amazed with the impact that his parent’s music had on people who loved the music and so passion and love for music creation was implanted in the kid  - His name is Wave Rhyder.

Login Radio partnered with Lesotho Music News Daily in the third episode of #The_Clout_Entrepreneur on Login Radio and this is how Wave Rhyder discovered his music talent. “Ah...growing up I’ve always been around people who do music , I mean even my parents would always take me to the studio when  they went to record  their songs.... even the friends I had at school, they all loved  music, it’s like they were somehow selected..”.  Molupe said. He said people really supported him when he came out announcing that he is going for music, despite his parents making Gospel music, they were mature enough to understand that music is the talent from God and thye fully supported him in his Hip-Hop music career.

The vocalist blew up in Lesotho after he released his single ‘Ts’ela Bo Tlale’, translated ‘Pour Up That Licker’.  How thesong came about is... “I was in the studio working on the beat and I felt the beat so much, I called @North_Ls and told him about the beat and asked him to pull up that night so we can work on the song.”, Wave Rhyder explained. North came that night and found Wave Rhyder already working on the song, the chorus part, he loved it and they finished the chorus. Ts’ela Bo Tlale chorus was os hot that the artists shot a video the same night and Wave Rhyder put it on his whatsapp status. Rhyder said people loved and shared the song so much that they did not believe what happened that evening. “People demanded the song and we had to work on it ,. It took me a week to finish up the song  ‘cos  I remember I dropped it on Friday. We took it to Facebook and people loved it , shared it and there was so much attention drawn from the people... they started paying attention and I can say I blew up through the Ts’ela Bo Tlale”. Molupe got some what emotional when answering the quetsion on how he felt about Ts’ela Bo Tlale success, he said it is always overwhelming seeing people love and appreciate his work.

Dusty-D asked Wave Rhyder if he could say he’s the one who produced North LS for most people  did not know him

(North LS) before Ts’ela Bo Tlale and  this is what he had to say.

“I can’t really say I’m the one who produced him for he was already a photographer, videographer and an musician. Well I played a role but I did not produce him 100%”. He said he knew how North Ls would nail the character of Mokopu in the song and he has not disappointed him since. The rapper said clout is very important in his career for it helps reach people that otherwise couldn’t be reached. ‘I grew in my career because of social media, you find that a person from Butha-Buthe, South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria...  listens to Wave Rhyder Music  because of social media”.

We cannot ignore how the worldwide pandemic has badly affected almost all the industries. The entertainment industry is no exception in this. Wave Rhyder said it is a disaster in Lesotho, for example he has not earned anything since March 2020. It is still a problem as of October the 17th 2020 for Lesotho’s government to open the entertainment industry especially the events industry, they say this is where the acceleration of  covid-19 new cases is speeded up for events attendees drink too much and forget themselves, even though all other industries are  allowed to open. From Monday To Sunday hitmaker said they even try look for other options to make some cash.

Lilaphalapha who is a famous and successful comedian in Lesotho and South Africa is a manager of Molupe’s music career since the song Ts’ela Bo Tlale. Wave Rhydey is currently working on his new EP which he says features a number of big names in the music scene. Also look out for his Monday To Sunday music Video.
